Want to update to macOS Catalina but can't justify losing access to all the outdated 32-bit apps I rely on (looking at you Microsoft Word for Mac 2011). Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 is a version of the Microsoft Office productivity suite for macOS. It is the successor to Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac and is comparable to Office 2010 for Windows. Office 2011 was followed by Microsoft Office 2016 for Mac released on September 22, 2015, requiring a Mac with an x64 Intel processor and OS X. Com.microsoft.office.licensing.helper.plist, com.microsoft.office.licensing.helper, the license files, the subscription files; the /Library/Application Support/Microsoft/ folder; It just seems strange to me that doing all the above only affects Office 2011 for Mac and not Office 2016 for Mac. Has anyone tried this and verified that is the case?

Split from this thread. I updated my Mac Pro with the catalina OS and now my long paid for and fully operational Office 2011 suite doesn't work. Looking for 'updates' leads me to 365 and I need to buy. Microsoft has been readying its latest update to Office for Mac, and recently released its first preview. We decided to give it a whirl and wanted uninstall Office 2011 to avoid any conflicts. Much to our surprise, uninstalling Office 2011 for Mac is a terribly complicated affair.
